Walkabout Preview

Got little ones in tow? The following spots on the Walkabout route will have activities and fun specifically for kids.

Woof! Woof! Pet Boutique and Biscuit Bar will be hosting a Pet Parade and Halloween Costume Contest from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., parading through downtown Warren. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded to costumes for most original, best duo or group (dog and person), cutest, best monster/scariest, and funniest. Treats will be given out to the first 100 kids and 75 dogs!

Speaking of dogs, stop by and say hello to Scooby Doo at Luca Boutique at 139 Water Street. The boutique offers children’s clothing from newborn to teen as well as trendy maternity wear, pre-owned baby gear, toys and books.

Farmstead Mercantile (Trolley Stop #6) will be hosting artist Richard Kaiser, who will be carving a rooster with a chainsaw right on the front lawn!

If your children love crafts, head on over to the Warren Art Spot (6 Child St) for hands-on crafts and activities for children of all ages.

If it’s live music you want, Sharks Come Cruisin’ will be at The Greenery, located at 63 Water Street, and renowned local folk duo Atwater-Donnelly, with dancer Kevin Doyle from Barrington, will be performing at the historic Baptist Church on Main St. from 1pm to 4pm. And all over town starting at noon, you can catch The Second Line Social Aid and Pleasure Society Brass Band as they rove around, hitting up spots like 30 Cutler St., the Taste of Warren, and more locations downtown.

Get around via the free trolley, park your bike at the bike valet setting up near the Taste of Warren at Railroad Ave, or hail a pedicab in downtown Warren.
