Windham’s artwork in this exhibit consists of wood and mixed media constructions of cats presented in a myriad of shapes, sizes and expressions which he calls, “Herding Cats.” As an introduction to his artwork, Windham quotes Aaron Dennis who has said, “Cat herding is simple. Just drag a string behind you,” but slyly observes, “Making them is a little harder unless you’re a cat.”
Windham has worked as a graphic designer and artist throughout his career. His art is purposefully eclectic, merging aspects of art, design, and illustration. His work has been shown in England and regionally in solo and group exhibitions including the Bristol Art Museum, Newport Art Museum the Virginia Lynch Gallery, galleries at Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design, and Providence College, among many others.
In addition to Windham, other IFA artists who will be participating in the exhibit include Sally Barker, Eileen Siobhan Collins, Mary Dondero, Stephen Fisher, Philip Gruppuso, Carl Keitner, Eileen Mayhew, Yolanda Mazzoni, Linda Megathlin, Mercedes Nuñez, Anne Marie Rossi, Howard Rotblat-Walker, Lenny Rumpler, and Meredith Wolf.
Regular gallery hours are Thursdays, 3 – 6 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
