Warren Walkabout 2013! Sunday, October 20th 12-5pm

It’s coming up fast! Make sure to RSVP to our Facebook event so you can get all our updates about the Taste of Warren, artists, performances, demonstrations, open studios, and more… e-mail info@discoverwarren.com for more information (or to sign up to be a part of the Walkabout, click here!)

A big, big thank you to our sponsors this year, Navigant Credit Union and 30 Cutler Street. They’ve been supporting the Walkabout for years now, and we love them for it. Check out this year’s artist poster design by Mark Wholey (and be sure to visit his studio when you join us for the Walkabout!).

Save the date!

There are a bunch of fall events coming up here in Warren, so mark your calendars…

* Fusion Fest! Saturday, September 21st from 12-7pm. Live music and local brews for a good cause!

* Warren Walkabout! Sunday, October 20th from 12-5pm. Musicians, artists, shops, restaurants, and galleries all over town. Plus, try a Taste of Warren, showcasing samples from local restaurants and food producers!

See you in Warren.

Food Trucks, Basketball, and a Great Cause…

Tomorrow, come celebrate Warren’s Burr’s Hill Park with “A Day in the Park” from 3pm to 7pm! Featuring the Hometown Revival Project’s annual King of the Hill basketball tournament along with food trucks galore, brews and wines from Cisco Brewers and Grapes & Grains, kids activities courtesy of the local YMCA, and gorgeous views brought to you by the Warren river. Bring a picnic blanket and a bike, because Recycle-a-Bike will be on hand to valet and do some basic maintenance… so don’t be afraid to come from far away! See you tomorrow…

This Weekend!

Saturday and Sunday, July 20-21st, brings us an annual treat: the Quahog Festival and Arts Festival down at Burr’s Hill Park. On Sunday, after you’ve eaten all the fried seafood you possibly can and checked out all the local art, stroll around downtown Warren and check out some mad sidewalk sales (complete with snacks, lemonade, and let’s not forget: AC!). See you then!

Discover Warren Tokens!

Just in time for the holidays, we’re launching a new, alternative “currency” here in Warren — a universal gift certificate, if you will! Sold at The Coffee Depot on Main St, these little wooden tokens are worth $10 each and can be used same as cash in many small businesses here in town (see below for the list, which will be updated daily as shops and restaurants sign on!). Packaged in little burlap bags, they make wonderful housewarming gifts for new Warren residents, or the ultimate gift for East Bay friends. These tokens were inspired by Jack’s Bar’s classic “Good for One Beer” nickels, and designed by local artist and native son Adam Tracy. Thanks, Adam!

During Friday’s “Warren Wonderland” (see details here), you can earn double the raffle tickets towards our big gift basket by using the tokens, so pick up a bunch before you head out!

Tokens can also be purchased at The Wooden Midshipman (146 Water Street) during business hours. Contact Discover Warren at info@discoverwarren.com if you want to purchase them online or if you want them shipped anywhere for the holidays–we are happy to!

Cheers to a festive season, and thanks for supporting your local small businesses!
